Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast
An aircraft flying above a crowded southern California beach suddenly began spiraling out of control, eventually losing altitude and plunging into a row of palm trees as onlookers watched.
Footage uploaded on the internet show the chopper commencing to spiral above Huntington Beach then falling towards the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a steps near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders reported five people were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on that day.
Three persons on the street were injured. Specifics on their injuries were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
